Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Munchak, Surkhandarya River. Y.R. Smolnikov et al., 1971.
Synonym: Munchak Suite, Мунчакская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Siltstone (aleurolites), sandstones, clays in the foothills with gravellites and conglomerates, brownish-brown and brownish-gray. Thickness 54-1326m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies conformably or locally with erosion on the Yamchin Fm
Upper contact
It is overlain with erosion by the Sayrob Fm.
Regional extent
Baysun and Surkhandarya depressions. B.I. Pinhasov correlates it with the Khodzhalychin Fm and Shurasan Fm of the South-Western Gissar.

Contains ostracods - Darwinula stevensoni (Br. et Rob.), Candoniella albicaus (Brady), Ilyocypris sp., Cyprinotus sp., Limnocythere misera Mand., L. tenuireticulata Suzin., Cyprideis littoralis (Br.).
